Furry Pals, What Is It?

I grew up having lots of pets in our house. At one point we had five cats and one dog. I bet you are picturing a chaotic house with the animals running around, right? That is only half true, often you could not tell there was six animals in the house because they got along. Also, the cats and dog knew our first cat, an 8-pound soaking wet deaf kitty was the queen of the hen house. When they passed away my family was broken into a thousand pieces. That pain does not go away.

I wanted to take a moment to explain what furry friends are and where it came from because it is a popular program I offer. In May 2017, my aunt’s cat Sabrina passed away and as you can expect she was devasted. For Christmas that year, I decided to knit here three-inch stuffed animals of both of her cats Sabrina and Devlin. In a way I brought Sabrina back into her life. Pretty neat, huh? I thought so.

In 2020, I decided to start Feisty Mouse Knits and I started telling people I did this for my aunt and was willing to knit their pets. In 2021, my cousin asked me to knit her wife their cats as a last gift because she was dying. Also, in 2021, my other cousin asked me to knit her two dogs because they both passed. She felt the emptiness of a pet less house. when I gave them to her, she said she was happier because she could put them by her computer during zoom meetings.
